Silver in the Sustainability Award 2024, category Learning
I am delighted that my ESD project was awarded silver this week.
Klaus Taschwer, jury member and science journalist at Der Standard, said in his speech that the project ‘makes maths lessons, which often have a reputation for being a bit out of touch with life, up-to-date and socially relevant’.
I would also like to point out that there are many, many, many interesting projects in maths didactics, including ESD, some of which have been doing great work since the 1980s.
It's a shame that Maths 2024 still has this reputation because of the 100 watermelons in a text example, but it's nice that we can make a contribution with our project with teaching materials of all kinds and that we can respond to this.
My special thanks go not only to my colleagues but especially to the many dedicated students involved in the project, without whom this success would not have been possible
