About me
Short Bio
Since 2022, I have been a Postdoctoral Researcher in Mathematics Education at the University of Graz, working in the research group of Christina Krause.
I obtained my doctoral degree in 2022 from the University of Vienna, under the supervision of Christian Schmeiser and Marie-Therese Wolfram (Warwick), focusing on modelling in applied and life sciences.
My current research centers on Reasoning and Proof at the upper secondary and tertiary levels, as well as Modelling in the context of science communication and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). In the latter area, my project "New Topics for ESD and Mathematics Education – Both Scientific and Interesting" was awarded Silver at the 2024 Sustainability Award. This award is jointly presented by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology.
Functions
I serve as the Austrian ambassador for the International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IMMC) and am a member of the early-career researchers' representation (Nachwuchsvertretung) of the Society for Didactics of Mathematics (GDM).
I also lead the Styrian branch of the Mathematik macht Freude (MmF) team. In this role, we organize study clubs for students and pupils, as well as a wide range of mathematics competitions across Styria (link).
